The Lunation of May/June 2009

The lunation period beginning at the new moon on May 24th and culminating with the full moon on June 7th, as read from Washington D.C., shows the following developments in the U.S. The new moon falling in the 12th house points, on the one hand, to increasing crime and trouble in connection to hospitals and prisons, and on the other hand, to legislative developments aimed at benefitting public projects such as housing in impoverished areas, but which will be held back or postponed. And by full moon conditions of crime and poverty along with poor conditions in hospitals and prisons will worsen. Elements of crime will bring an increased danger of deaths by contaminated drugs. Aside from crime, there may also be deaths due to contaminated foods. The new moon chart shows sudden and unexpected developments in government circles that will require careful management. These developments appear to be connected to international relations and trade that will loom up in importance by full moon and will involve big business, the stock market, public expenditures and government bailouts increasing the national debt. On a positive note, the lunation favors publishing and the entire entertainment industry.

The Chinese astrological chart for the lunation shows a continuing pattern of anxiety in the country, and recommends cultivating calm reflection as the way to avoid making bad decisions. Business is weak, and competition is strong. Amid competitiion is a spirit of intolerance. Intolerance touches on personal relations. The chart also shows the spirit of romance. The combination of competition, intolerance and romance spells dangerous conditions for people whose personal relationships are unstable as well as dangers of betrayal in the business sector. The sign of romance, however, marks this as a favorable time for people getting married. Reduced to an I Ching hexagram the time of the lunation gives us hexagram 27 line 6. Hexagram 27 is Corners of the Mouth. It has the image of a dragon in a deep pool, and tells us to hold to the good and keep far away from evil actions. It is fortunate to persevere. Pay attention to providing nourishment and guard your tongue. The 6th line advises to be impartial in providing nourishment. Being aware of danger is brings good luck. Time to cross the great water. Inspite of difficulties keep trying.
